I building an Media Center with a console, and i dont know how to arrange my things inside.
I got 1 4-ports powered hub and 1 4-ports non-powered hub. and i need to plug those.
-2 external hard drives 2.5 inch, usb powered 320GB and 500GB
-An Ipod Universal Dock
-Xbox wireless Receiver
-USB keys
Does someone know in which order i should plug those?

What are you plugging them in to? I assume it's some type of computer, but we need some details on it, namely, how many USB ports does it have?

Is it a computer or an Xbox?

Are your hubs USB 2.0, or just USB 1.1? If they're only 1.1, plug your storage devices (iPod dock, external hard drives, etc) directly into the main device. Input devices (remotes, keyboards, etc) don't need all that speed, so you can plug them into USB 1.1 hubs and not get any lag or bottleneck. (In fact, most people can't keep up with a 300 baud modem's text transfer speed on a keyboard, and that's much slower than USB.)

I want to plug it into my laptop with the connection on my self-powered hub. like this diagram.

Laptop--------Self-power hub 2.0-----3 ports
................................I
................................I
.................................I
............................Hub 2.0--------3 ports

Im pretty sure that i will plug the hard drives on the first hub, leaving me 1 port, but im not sure about the others, what normally consume more energy? By the way, all that Stock are inside an xbox360.
