You should bring it up to Dave's Farm, a "crazy Canadian paradise where fun and bizarre things happen" in Ontario. He'll make a convertible out of it, or just yank the roof back into some sort of shape with a backhoe and use it up some more. (Take it up his really steep hill ["Sky Hill"], some jumps, mudding...) 8)

EDIT: Oh hi, Pagebreak. Fancy meeting you here.

Basil, my 2005 Brazilian import type 2 Campervan. Modding him this summer as I hate the (lack of) interior. May install an Xbox too

I'm hating you right now. I would love to import a Brazil Bus, but since the US changed regulations importing the things is illegal. :x

Not unless you do what a couple VW Beetle importers used to do: Buy an original, US market car and put the new body on the old chassis and use the old VIN number, registering the contraption as whatever year the classic was. At that point, you're basically using the new one as a remanufactured body, like you can get from YearOne for old muscle cars. (However, simply putting the old VIN on the new car and trying to pass it off as an original is fraudulent and probably illegal.)

Though even up here in the land of rust and snow, I see a few VW vans here and there, and restoration parts are plentiful from places like JC Whitney. Chances are you can find a fixable survivor.

It's packing a 1.6 litre fuel injected flat four. Same basic engine as the old one but with a bit more oomph. Easily reaches 70mph if you have the guts to drive it that fast. Real crowd pleaser and great for camping, especially when I can afford a spare battery and a fridge.
