quad cell cellphone battery possible?

Post by stuntpenguin007 »

I asked a while back if using 2 cellphone batteries at 3.7V and 1000 mah apiece would be an ok battery to use and I guess that wouldn't be powerful enough. But what if I hooked up a retro duo to 4 or 5 batteries and regulated the voltage? Then I would have 4000 to 5000 mah.

I would check how much voltage the retro duo takes but I lost my power cord :(

I'm mostly just trying to have some flexibility for where I can have my batteries and save some space. 2 batteries on the left side and 2 on the right.

According to Mario's Console/Screen Voltage and mA Guide
Mario wrote:Retro Duo: Both halves use 5v. Don't know the draw yet for NES side.
Current draw: SNES half: 290mA
Approximate battery life: 7.5 hours

thanks!

I think when I first asked I was asking about the n64.
So If the battery has (2 cell) 2000mah and is regulated to 5v would the amps fry it or are more amps good?

If you were to use 4 batteries (3.7v at 1000mah), then you could only get 2000mah out of them. I'm assuming you'll need the 7.2v to run the screen, so they will be in series and in parallel. Check this out to see what I'm talking about.
