PSOne screen doesn't pick up video

Post by Michaelthurston »

Okay, I'm making this thread because i couldn't really find anything on it; And i REALLY need help.

So my PSOne screen came in; and i went to get everything wired up; But the Screen doesnt pick anything up from the N64; not even the slight flash you get when you turn it on.

But, It does work, i tested in with a plug n play thing, and a PSOne, so i know the screen works fine; But why wont it work with the n64; It powers on; i can mess with the volume/brightness; But it wont work with the n64 at all...

Can someone help me out here?

Okay, I took everything down and hooked everything back up, But this time i'm getting way more of a response from the N64;

It flashes on the Screen when i hook it all up; But no game; I think its just the dirty cart slot im using.

And yes SS i made sure ground for everything is connected. Brb, gonna get a clean Cart slot

You're really not giving enough information to us. it'll be easier to help if you can tell us:
1. Does the N64 work connected up to a TV?
2. What power supply are you running the N64 and screen on?
3. Have you got a common ground wire in between the psone and n64 (what I think shockslayer was asking)?

Post any other details that may be relevant and your problem will get solved much faster.

If you find that you don't have a wire connected between the N64 AV ground and the PS1 screen AV ground (as shown in this picture) then you will need to connect a wire in between the correct two points. Normal AV cables have two wires in them, a ground and signal wire. You can easily make the mistake of only connecting the signal wires leaving no reference point for the screen to go off.

At least I think that's all correct :D .
