Help with PSP Battery

My battery looks like this I wanted to hard mod it, but I've been looking all over for a guide. Help!

Sony realized what people are doing to the phat batteries so they changed the design to throw people off. See those black goops next to the chips? It's most likely to be covering the pins so that they can't be desoldered. Tsk Tsk.... What model number is this?

Yeah, that's called "potting" what they've done there. It's a pretty simple technique for holding bare silicon dies down, and also a low-level security technique to prevent tampering with surface mount chips. You can attempt to scrape it off, but unless your really careful you could damage something. There are places which also sell solvents for the removal of potting compound, but those solvents can be quite nasty, and I'm not entirely sure where you can buy them. Option 2 is see if the PCB is the same as a non potted and tap off the exposed traces that aren't under the glop.

Does someone have a guide to help me get this working? Like taking the goo off and pulling spomething? BTW, thanks for the info.

but isnt that big white thing like where the board has been scraped off or is that more "blob" stuff
