What Should I Do With My Old Portable TV?

Hey all,

So with the new digital broadcasting switch, my old portable TV is nearly useless.
I say nearly, because it has served me well as a screen for any composite game system.
Now I'm thinking that since it can't be used as a TV anymore, I can permanently work it into a project without fear of loss!
Trouble is, I have no idea what I should make.
I've had some success building portable devices in the past, and I think this TV is perfect for it.
While it's only 5", the screen is pretty crisp, and at 750mah at 12v, it's not too bad of a drain.

Apparently for my birthday (next week), I'm getting a Wii.
That makes my old Gamecube pretty useless. Pretty expendable

I looked around, and we never heard back on the power info on the Gamecube.
What's the minimum volts it needs? _____v

The Nintendo GameCube requires only three voltages (compared to the previously thought four).

1.9v
6600mA
This line is used to power the CPU core. There has been previous confusion about just how much this line really consumes, but recent study shows that the current draw is quite high, so it takes a fairly strong regulator to handle this line. The power ratio is 12.54W.

3.3v
900mA
The 3.3v powers the peripheral chipset. The power consumption for this line is 2.97W.

5.0v
400mA
This line is only used to power the DVD motor. It only draws (up to) 400mA when the motor is spinning and the disk is being read. At times when the drive is idle, no current is drawn. The max consumption on this line is 2.0W.

12.0v
50mA
This line has caused much confusion in the past. The 12v line is used for two things: running the cooling fan built into the GameCube's case, and running the audio line. Once the fan is removed, the line only draws 5mA to power the audio. However, the audio does not actually need 12v, it is only labeled so. Removing the fan, this line only takes 0.06W. The audio only needs 5.0v @ 12mA.

I've measured a Gamecube drawing about 1.6A at 12v (pretty much what basement_modder's post works out to). I think the original powerboard in the GC works down to 10.8v.

An easy mistake. Amps are not the same for any voltage. 1A at 12V isn't the same amount of power as 1A at 100V. The measure of power is watts, Volts*Amps=Watts. The posted list shows the watts for each voltage. When you add them up, you get about 20W. The 1.6A*12V I said is about 20W.

It's like miles per hour. You can't just say "my car is so fast, I went 400 miles", that doesn't explain how fast the car is. The best way would be to say "my car is so fast, I went 400 miles in 2 hours". Not a very good comparison, but hopefully it helped a bit.

Now, if I have 1600mAh at 12v (gcn) and 750mAh at 12v (screen)...
To power it for 3 hours, I need a 12v battery with a (3*2350)mAh capacity, right?
....Meaning, this battery should do the trick?
