7" - 8" widescreen lcds that accept RGB
I'm not getting much further with the panel I took out of a satnav system and so I'm thinking about getting a new screen instead.
What are the 7-8" widescreen Joytech PS2/Xbox screens like when run in RGB mode? I wonder if its their usual composite connections that makes everyone think they look like ass....
Any other cheap-ish screen of that size that can accept RGB?

Re: 7" - 8" widescreen lcds that accept RGB
the reason the bad lcds are condidered ass is because of thier poor build quality, for example take a look at the intec gamecube screen, I had that thing for nearly a year and it really started to wear out. If you want a good LCD, try http://www.industriallcd.com they have some pretty good LCD modules that might help you, thier not cheap but the build quality and design of these are far better than AEICOMP LCDs or the joytech screens.
i hate how electronic part suppliers give you an option on their website to filter your searches so that you can find a certain part and no results come up!

I dunno... I emailed them, and they never replied. It has been 3 days, too.
If I get a response all of a sudden, I will be happy, but also suspect you work for them.

they did that to me as well but i did get a response, i don't work for them, I just found them after googling a bit after my third replacement screen from AEICOMP died, i'm thinking of ordering a 2.5 inch lcd from them after i finish my grade 10 exams, and after i get enough cash, luckily I have a job starting this summer so that I'll have enough (NOT AT INDUSTRIAL LCD!!! but a similar place)palmertech wrote:I dunno... How much did they want for screens? I would love to have the info.
EDIT: Stupid removed.
I am looking for a small screen, I would buy that Pustom off DX, but they are down right now.

Not to derail the topic, but yeah - what's with DX? They've been on and off for the past few days.palmertech wrote:How much did they want for screens? I would love to have the info.

DX is upgrading.
I just got an email an hour ago. Coincidence? I THINK NOT!
Turns out IndustrialLCD is within a half hour driving distance from me! Who would have guessed!
Going to give them a call tomorrow and see what I can pull together.

Nothing really of any use at industriallcd.com; the straight forward lcd modules are too small and not in widescreen.
I'll keep watching ebay and see if anything interesting comes up.

"We are sorry, but we do not sell to the general public. However, I am sure that we can figure something out for your school project, just give us a call."
I meant to call today, never got the chance. I will relay my findings to you guys, though! I might even get to visit them in real life, they are only a 20 minute or so drive away from my place.

Re: 7" - 8" widescreen lcds that accept RGB
I talked to them, to make it short, they do not want to sell in any kind of quantity to the general public. They :might: be able to help out individuals, but at the prices they are asking, it honestly makes more sense to buy from AEIcomp. I promised I would not disclose price info, so that is the most I can say.
