Cutting the PSOne Screen?

Would it be OK if I cut away the parts indicated below on the PSOne screen with an Exacto Knife?



I mean the parts within the red boxes, not the arrows. I got this picture from somewhere else and it already had the arrows on it.

As long as you can find where to put the connections after removal then yes you can remove the bottom.

And you can actually completely remove the top and the brown thing if you led mod the screen.

Yep, the top section is the transformer for the backlight, it can be de-soldered or cut off completely if you LED mod the screen.
Even if you decide not to cut the PCB down, you're best off de-soldering it anyway to reduce power draw.
