PS1 screen too green

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

The PSTwo (not sure about the original) automatically detects the presence of a DVD and sets the video output to component video.
Sony's claim is that GAMES are supposed to play as you have them
set up in the setup screen. I haven't had that experience - component video sends a lot of info down the RGB green line hence a LOT of green.
You would find too, i believe, that the red and blue lines would be lower
in level than normal.
Buy it, open it, modify it ;-)

Really?

Thanks. Anybody know what resisters to parallel for blue and red? My best guess is that CV18-CV20 are respectively red, green, and blue.

Ok here is the deal. The security protection Sony put on the PS2 (and the new slim) is just stupid. It affects DVDs, period. In order to remidy this without use of a mod chip is you either use straight composite video pinout or have a switch so that when you go to play a PSone game you have RGB.

Is that why my ps2 can't play DVDs right when it's plugged into a VCR? (The picture fades in and out)

No, that's macrovision. It's on almost any dvd player so you can't copy the dvd.

I suggested this before:
goodie wrote:I just got an idea. Wouldn't it be possible to connect a potientiometer to the green line to get rid of the greenish look in dvds? And if it still looks too green you could build an amplifier for the red and blue lines. What do you guys think?

Is there any reason why it wouldn't work?

If anybody knows if CV19 is for green, which I think it is, then you can apply the mod on the other page.
