Huh. Interesting find. I am actually building something like now. But mine is more similar to a MAME arcade system, not a PC.

Hello, quangDX here, one of the guys working on the aaSNES1,
I didn't originally think to post in this forum, as I know it's more to do with modding consoles, than modding PCs.

but it's gonna be cool being able to play any SNES game (through emulation) on what looks like a SNES.
Also playing megadrive games on it is gonna be a surreal.

The DVDRW drive was probably the best idea for the casemod, but also the most troublesome,
the drive is just too tall and a fraction too wide.

If anyone can suggest a good way to hide the sides of the drive, it would be most appreciated.
I may just end up going with grey/silver duct tape.

as for it being a waste of an Acer Aspire One,
I have to disagree, the AAO is probably the cheapest 1.6Ghz Atom computer you can buy,
I picked mine up for £160,
And being honest, it's not a very nice netbook, it's cheap for a reason.
In my humble opinion I've made the casing better.

I can't wait to load this up with emulators and play on a proper joypad.

I would love to see this applied to an american SNES.

I did think about using an american SNES,
it would have made my job easier, it's a bigger machine, and the carts are bigger,
so I wouldn't be having all the issues with the DVDRW drive.

but to be honest, I think the american SNES looks like big breeze block.
the PAL and JAP SNES is a sleek, cool console.

maybe if I get enough interest I'll work on the american version of it.

I know! Though not bad, the American SNES absolutely pales in comparison to the beautiful PAL SNES/Super Famicom. In fact if I had enough money I'd do a cool swap with modded slot!

how hard is it to sell your hacks/mods on ebay?
what sort of response/luck have other people had?

maybe eBay is not the way to go, and i should just forget the whole idea.
