Is this bad? (Gamecube) [Images]

I got this Gamecube from a friend, but it's been smashed up a bit:









Thing is, the system works (powers on, reads the disc, playable with controller), but I'm not really sure I want to try and put a memory card in there... anyway, I don't know what that front pcb does exactly so I was wondering if anyone could tell me if it's worth trying or not?

Bottom line, I'd like to sell it to someone here... would anyone buy it? How much? And I figured I'd post it here before the trading post because I'm not selling it yet, but also I figured the GC forum people would know what's potentially wrong with it...

It's also got a broken cover (springless/doesn't trigger closed-cover switches), so it needs to be torn apart anyway:

No, you should still be able to safely put in memory cards. The front pcb is for the reset button, four controllers, battery and power led. As long as all those are functioning, then the gamecube is in working condition.

If you still want to keep the gamecube, I suggest you make a request in the Trading Post about a gamecube case. We have so many of them, you could probably even request a color. I wouldn't think you'd have to pay for much, considering they just take up space after we mod the guts.

Ahh... good point about the cases.

No, I'd rather get rid of the GC, if people are willing to take it with those cracks in the pcb. I'll test it further before I put it up in the trading post. Thanks though.

The PCB that has the cracks on it isn't even required. You can hook all the components up to the mobo itself.

yep, this is one of the easier things to fix when talking about broken cubes ^^

you can try "join" again the broken traces by soldering. or you can also attach the parts directly to the mobo, I think I posted the direct pinout from the mobo somewhere
