My first project

Post by Magnificent Modder »

I want to start modding my old consoles (PlayStation 1, PS2, Xbox 360)

and I was starting with PS1. I need ideas, could someone recommend me a project?

Now that I think. I want it to be able to:

*do VGA out, so I can hook it up to my monitor
*Slot-Loading CD-ROM drive (I have an old iMac I can nab it from)
*External Hard Drive (and detect it as a memory card)
and maybe paint it Black or Red ;)

VGA out, not worth it/doubt if its possible.

hard drive as a memory card..... wont work

slot loading cd-rom, possible but I highly doubt you'll be able to use your Imac one.

paniting it black or red...Go for it!

other ideas:

Led mod

modchip/microcontroller chip

clear CD lid

LED jewel

Impossible. Actually, you can run the RGB through an upscan converter, but that isn't really the PS1 doing VGA out.
Possible but requires 1337 5K1LLZ and requires a lot of work.
Theoretically possible, but very difficult.

The mere fact that you ask about such things means that you are clearly incapable of doing them. Not to be rude, but you have to be very epic to do any of those. Except for the first one which is either cheating or impossible.

In any case, there are plenty of other easier mods to do. Work your way up.
