PSone screen board hacking idea

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

PSone screen board hacking idea

Post by Basement_Modder »

We all should know that the psone screen circut board can be trimmed down almost to the size of the lcd, right? It cannot be the size of the lcd because of a small chip on the right side. Well, since the small offending piece is an audio chip, can it not be discarded and replaced with a custom audio amp? No stupid comments, please, I want this thread to be purely constructive.
Cheers,

heck, you could just dump the chip entirely, and then just run the audio lines into a custom audio amp. :) after all, there is no real reason to keep the standard audio amp, if you want small.

I recommend making a simple audio amp using an LM386. Google it and you'll get tons of info.

Wait, I thought that the LN386 was better because it accepted a wider range of voltages. I used the "N" when I made both of my amps.

The "N" is a cheap ripoff, but sometimes ripoffs are better.

cheap ripoff is an oxymoron

Actually, I believe the term you are thinking of is cheap knockoff. And I never knew that

Cheap ripoff is used just as much as cheap knockoff. They are synonomous.
