I remember finding a TRC-206 CB radio (link to picture here) at some garage sale for like a buck. I'm not sure, but it should work fine. I have little to no use for it, though. It's got 3 channels (labeled A, B, and C) and runs on 8 AA batteries (upon prying open the cover, I'm finding exploded/leaky batteries - fun!). It's got two ports, one labeled EXT ANT and the other CHARGER.
Since I have no intention of using this thing, I'm thinking about cracking it open and doing something neat with it. I'm not sure what, but I do know I want to mod it. Heavily. Any suggestions on what I should do with this thing would be appreciated.

Re: Old CB Walkie-Talkie
Well, cracked it open last night. Nothing really caught my eye. Guess I'll pass on the "salvage all the parts" idea.
Been searching for a couple of hours, and all I can find are modifications for picking up other frequencies. I definitely don't plan on using this for communication or anything illegal, so that's out of the question.
This thing is huge ('Bout 9" x 2.5" x 3" [22.86cm x 6.35cm x 7.62cm]). I could probably cram quite a lot in here, if I chose to. The question is what. My first thought was "taser" (not one of those nasty disposable camera ones) but this thing wouldn't exactly fit in my pocket. I want to use the case, but I'm stumped. s:

An NOAC portable could work, but why do that when I could easily make a much smaller one with the same components?
This wouldn't be a very good portable gaming device, as it's too thick. I'm thinking portable radio (since it's got a gigantic antenna already) or somethin'. Maybe not a radio, as that's pretty boring.

Re: Old CB Walkie-Talkie
Quick update: I also have an old (but functional) digital camera and an 80 GB hard drive. Looking around my desk, I have a pair of noise-canceling headphones (the headband to which snapped and can't be glued back together) at my disposal. Various motors, LEDs, lighters, and tubes of superglue along with this CB radio are giving me very, very moronic/ineffective ideas.
Basically I'm bored and need something to do with the old parts I have lying around. Ideas would be appreciated.
