Lan Party Linux Win

As you all may know Im having a LAN party this summer a BIG one. Well on memorial day weekend I'm going have one for "practice" Well anyway we have some good games lined up
Doom III
Quake III
URT2K4
CS 1.6 Steamless
Far Cry
thats cause from what I believe thease all support linux and windows.
the party is going to have 6 people myself included 2 people run Linux the other 4 run Windows XP. My question is to set up the network I assign a unique ip adress to each computer and connect to each of themto the ip. I have nevr networked Windows and Linux together so I'm just asking for some help.

no you dont use valves steam cause it sucks

Wow, you really don't know about CS and Steam? CS stands for Counter Strike, the most popular Half Life mod, originally made independantly, but I think (not sure) that Valve owns the rights now. Steam is Valve's online game distribution network/server/anti-pirating scheme. CS for Steam has updated graphics, physics, and maybe some other stuff. So yeah, there's tons of people out there who play both versions (I'm not one of them), I'm surprised you've survived on the internet this long without knowing about it...
