Trying to figure out how to manufacture a stronger yet thinner case. My normal case construction techniques only go so far and thin. Been looking at making a milling table out of a router and a 3 Axis table.

Perhaps wood with a thin sheet of aluminum on the inner side to reinforce it?

That would work, too. Another idea that would be pretty thin, but moldable into corners, would be some thin fiberglass.

you could use that shalak that creates a very strong clear coat, just expands as it dries, have to compensate for that

I dont think shellac would be that much stronger than the lacqer he already was using. How much room you got for epoxy? It needs to be kinda thik to be strong. Otherwise its just brittel. Could you use some sheet steel or somthing with a bit of somthing else to insilate it?

It does to an extent. I actually looked into it when I was testing bent wood. You can't get anything crazy tho.
