Anybody who can actually rewire the controller board after cutting it up into sections is ok in my book. I could not for the life of me get them wired. I exposed the copper so the solder would stick but they are so tiny.

Did you use flux? I usually scrape the traces, apply some flux, and then apply a bit of solder to the exposed copper. The flux acts like a magnet for the solder, and cleans the surface you're soldering to at the same time. If you don't have any, you can pick some up at RadioShack or a similar store.

Also, 28 gauge or Kynar wrapping wire works great for small stuff like that.

You CAN do it without flux, but the connections come undone way easier, like for example if you bump it a couple of the wires will come off. (That's what happened on my n64 controller anyway)

Nice so far. I haven't done that kind of sanding, but I heard you shouldn't breathe the dust. Also, get some smaller wire, that stuff you used on the screen is huge.

Go to a local Thrift Shop and make one of these suckers. Easy to do, plus it's fun for people who enjoy the type of work.

I plan on buying a $1.00 power supply at the Thrift Shop tomorrow, along with picking up my SNES I just got. I found that craigslist tends to be a much cheaper, faster local medium to buy stuff for these projects on.

No I haven't given up the fight. I have been so crazy busy with work, family, and many other things too numerous to list. I have been sneaking out to the garage and doing a little bit here and there. Started considering a new case. Did some painting and sanding. I will get pictures up soon. Thanks.
