card slot relocation

Includes but not limited to: SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Game Gear and I guess the Virtual Boy.

how hard is it to relocate the card slot? i want to do mine just like ben.

Solder wires from each pin to the board.

Well there are two sets of holes, like this;
(rough diargam of cartridge area on N64 "Mother" board)

Which set do I solder the wires into. From bens pic it's hard to tell, A1 set or A2 set. :?

But then you don't have holes at A1 to stick your wires in, so you would use rows A2.

I never desolder the exp. port. I just break it off and solder to the points. A lot easier :)

ok i have just tried to relocate the cart slot but it is really hard i have not taken the xpansion slot off YET but i thenk i should is it easier if i take it off? I am using ide cable i am soldering the cut end of the cable to the board and the other end clips on to the cart slot will this work ok?

OK i have finished my relocation everything looks good but..... when i put a game in nothing it flickers then its black. does this mean its dead??
