Widescreen! If you want to play games fullscreen, they must be horrendously stretched and antialiased. The screen isn't high resolution enough for it to look good without filtering. If you play at 1:1 pixel ratio, it's horrendously tiny!

That, and the emulators all suffer 1-2 millisecond input lag, which is not acceptable.
This is true.

Of course I never play on widescreen.

PlayStation emulation is pretty good based on what I've played so far - the main issues I've encountered lie in playing back Redbook audio tracks in the games that have them, primarily (in my experience) in "Tomb Raider" and "Rayman." These are using EBOOTS made from rips of my own game discs, at least; I'm not sure if there'd be a significant difference if you used the PlayStation Store version of the games or not.

I disagree. In fact, I much prefer to have the video stretched to full screen. Sure, the aspect ratio is messed up, but other than that, I think it looks just fine. Far better than that itty-bitty square in the center of the screen, at least.

Also, Genesis/MegaDrive emulation is nearly flawless so far. PicoDrive is fantastic! 60 FPS in pretty much every game I've played so far - even Sega CD games! Master System emulation is great so far, too, though I've only tried one game.

SNES is a bit lame, in my opinion, but perhaps I haven't hit upon the right configuration.

Saturn emulation (yes, there is a Saturn emulator for the PSP!) is basically worthless. Haven't tried Dreamcast emulation, but since I've got a 1001, I don't know if it'd work anyways.

Depends on what you're used to. I used to hate things stretched out on HDTVs and such, but --with the exception of letter-boxed 4:3 stretched horizontally-- I've gotten used to it and don't mind. Sometimes I don't even notice.

Do the newer PSPs have faster or more overclockable processors or something? I was under the impression they all had the same performance.

Will do, AfroLH.

tom61: The PSP Slims have more RAM, I believe, and I think that extra RAM is necessary for the Dreamcast emulator.
