My post count sucks.

I've noticed since reading these forums that if your post count is sub-500, you're considered a noob. Problem is,
I don't want to be a noob! T_T
I joined the forums in december or january, and my post count is like 30. I don't wan't to increase my post count by saying "lol" or "cool" on everything I read. I read tons of topics, but I don't post unless I think it will contribute in some way.
I guess, are there any pointers on increasing my post count? Like, maybe asking a mod to up it for me? That would be an awesome birthday gift, "Plz gv me 100 post count!"

Post count is not and shold not be an indicator of intelligence. Look at daftmmike, for example. He has a post count of 40, and I'll strike down anyone who says he's a noob. Member quality is reflected by post quality, not post count.

1) Moderators can't do that.
2) Post count means nothing. I mean, look at people like eurddrue. Hell, I've barely contributed to anything but F42 in the last year.

post counts are irrelevant. I joined on the second day and I'm barely in the top 50 posters (but I don't make anything so I guess I'm not very important to this site haha). It's the internet, you'll get over it.

Someone that only posts in threads that has factual information about it (thus having a low post count) is better than someone with tons of posts, spreading erroneous/worthless information in every topic. (hypothetical situation, not accusing anybody of anything)

I also don't have anything bad to say about drue since he bought some stuff from me recently.

Like others said, post count has nothing to do with peoples' opinions of you. Around here its' all in how you present yourself.

What makes me think people are n00bs when they first come in is when they don't capitalize or punctuate. Not really post count, of course that's just what tips me off. It won't really matter to me if you don't capitalize if you make a smart post.

I look at the date a member has joined to decide if I care about what they have to say. Grammar plays a big part in it too.

I'm mentally accusing several people right now, and every time I see them post.
Some people post a lot, some people don't, thats all there is to it. Its just like talking, much of the time the person that talks the most isn't really saying anything of worth.
