is there such a thing as a pal NOAC or do i just need to get an American ps1 screen and mini nes and pay around 50 dollars p+p ?

I'm not sure if mini nes and ps1 screens from America will play pal games.

Ok edited version after some more thought, I stripped the casing of the joy tech and left 2 speakers in and i'm using the plastic to build around. I'm looking for a pal nes screen easier to wire up around 5.5 inches any ideas.

ps. I'd rather not use a ps1 screen there 70 quid on ebay!

Quick questions regarding my progress

With the nes switches if i unsolder them would and replace just the power, would i need to connect the reset solderpoints together to complete the circuit

on the nes controller port there 2 extra wires blue and purple that dont run to the controller. do i leave them out when i hook them together.

do u know where i could get a single cart connection port, that things a bit big for my portable.

2) Yes, those two are for the zapper so you can just leave them out
3) I'd just do a Google or eBay search

yep thats awesome thanks is a cart slot easy to wire up theres contacts on both sides of the board to each pin?

Here's a thread about some other type of cart connector. Don't know if it's what you are looking for, but here it is.

In any case there's basically 2 options for a NES portable:

1. NOAC and small (2.5-3.5) screen
You'd have to import them, but you can get screens from DealExtreme that are both PAL and NTSC.
2. NES and bigger (5+) screen
You can use a real NES, but you either need a PAL NES and PAL screen or a modded NTSC NES and NTSC screen.

If you plan on using that big GC screen you might as well use a full-sized PAL NES. If you want to go NOAC, there's no point using a big screen.

thanks i picked to use the casing but a diffrent screen there simply wasnt enough info on the gamecube screen for me to start. I'm looking for a new screen easy to hack around 5 - 6 inches as thats the size of my case. Cant wait to get my ben book hope its worth the money i paid to ship it ect

No idea. I thought you had a gamecube screen?

Can you make it more clear what your plan is? I'm assuming you are using a full-size PAL NES and want a nicely sized screen (PAL of course) to match.

it was a bit broken and i had no info on it and no one else did so, i'm using the case insted but with a new screen

i got a new screen a PlayStation one, and its the oddest think i've ever seen inside









my questions are, it has av out and in built in, i'm interested in av in correct?
nes only has one audio slot my screen has 2 is there a way of linking them so i don't just get audio out of 1 side

the power button has power console and a power console and screen (see pic of a yellow bit pointing out of the front tray dc out) its 7.5v can i wire my nes straight into that so i dont have to modify the board? or will it blow the nes?

those speakers look awful i have some off my logitech case can i simple wire them in ? however i'm not sure which is positive and negative because there not color coded.

if the screen is rated 7.5 v will 9.6v be over kill. i cant seem to see a fuse on the board with a rating.
last one does anyone have any idea what av multi out is ?

I hate to diverge from the topic a bit, but if you do end up using an NOAC, go with a Yobo or a similar new one, as they are much more accurate not only in CPU emulation but the sound is spot on. Also, the video quality is far superior.

i just noticed how the hell do u tell wires apart there all weird colours
also on the input jack theres 3 solder points is that where i connect my bat, is there a way of finding positive and negative spots on a multimeter?

That's an odd screen. Since you are new I wouldn't recommend using it. Send it to me instead
