gamecube joystick on n64.

In ER's tutorial you connect the gamecube Analog stick to the joystick of the n64 controller.
Is there a way to completely replace the n64 joystick????

I had this problem a while ago. You'll need a third party controller though.

i have a superpad, so im fine with that.
would this picture be accurate for any third party n64 controller?

The idea is the same. You can also copy How the original joystick attaches to the controller.
