Nes motion controller idea

Post by HercTNT »

I know that mash mods has a one axis motion controller chip available, but 2 axis would be better right. I found a video on youtube of a guy who made a motion controller for his GBC using 4 tilt mercury switches. This would be an incredibly easy mod to do i would imagine as the mercury switches replace the d pad selectable by a switch. At some point i may attempt this my self when i can get a pcb board at radio shack. the mercury switches i have already looked up and can be had at FRYS for $1.50 each. for anyone else this is just an idea in case they need something new to build :D

Cool idea, but it would be epically impossible to use.

AWW COME ON NOW!! alittle mercury never (twitch) hurt anyone!! i'm (twitch, twitch) just fine!!! yea thats one of the things keeping me from trying this. in the video on youtube it seems to work really well, but i have a vision of me breaking the switches. on the gameboy color in the video it seems crazy because the screen tilts with the gameboy. that seems annoying to me. but with a nes controller............................weeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!

Pretty sweet! He says they are mercury switches but they look more like metal ball switches.

It basically is a metal tube with a contact at one end and a metal ball inside. The ball makes contact, shorts switch, goes on. Simple.
