Just scored me a Virtual Boy for $10

Post by jleemero »

Yup.
$10 Virtual Boy, and in fine condition as far as I'm concerned.
Needless to say I'm quite happy about this find!

I don't, sadly, have even the slightest clue if it works :P
Does anyone know how I can test one of these without a game?

Also!
Whether this works, or if I have to fix it, I'm gonna wanna play some games!
What would y'all recommend for this thing?

I did actually own one of these ages ago.
I think I owned it for about a day :P
Don't hardly remember it at all.

there is a flash card for virtual boy. you may want to get that rather than trying to dish out a lo of money for the few games on the system

Flashcart for VB > $60.
3 Games I might enjoy: < $10 each

Though of course with a Flashcart I could explore the mysterious world of VB Homebrew

Wow, maybe I should pick up a flashcart for my VB sometime. The only games I've got for it are two copies of "Mario's Tennis."

I've heard Mario Tennis and Red Alarm are good. Nice find in any case.

Looks like I'm getting Teleroboxer!

Actually that review was pretty fun to watch, though hardly news at all :P

I'd still just like to know if this thing actually works or not though :|

If you thought that review was great, check out his Jaguar review. Mentioned is the user Vomitsaw from Benheck!

Heh, you want to buy it? I'm sure I could arrange that - as it is, it's just sitting in my spare Virtual Boy in a box in the basement, so I'd be glad to get it to someone who could use it. It's cart-only, but if I recall correctly, it's in pretty good shape. How's five bucks shipped?

Considering there were only like 10 games ever made for Virtual Boy I say try and get the whole "library" of games.

Best thing about this find is if you get bored of it (assuming it works of course) you can sell it on e-bay for several times what you paid for it. Good find. I remember a few months back seeing one in a games shop for about £40 but decided not to get it: for $10 you got a really good deal! :D I heard the Tennis and also Wario are supposed to be the best games on it, however I don't know, never played then even on an emulator.
