Smallest SNES PCB yet (tragically very very rare)

Post by DK »

I was on the ASSEMbler forum and found this post and more importantly
Image

It's an FX2 devkit with a 3x3 inch Snes board, soo teeny.

If only we could get a scematic of that board we could make small and totally compatible SnesPs

O.o could it really be used that easily (theoretically) and has anyone asked nicely?

The SNES schematics are already out on the web (http://www.caitsith2.com/snes/index.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;), all it would take is someone recreating them in an EDA program like Eagle and then laying out a PCB

If one of you "portable"izers takes such a rare item and ruins it by making a gigantic wad of hot glue and plastic that sucks that you'll call a "portable" with 3 hours of battery life, I will personally inflict massive damage upon you.

Seen this awhile ago, even posted on these forums :P
Anyways, yeah it's pretty nice, but can be reproduced...I wouldn't wanna try hand assembling it myself though :P

Either way it's sad if some n00b gets one and destoys it or builds a craptastic portable, but if it gets into the hands of someone truly 1337...

Those schematics are a very interesting find. It would be a lot of fun to try and use that to recreate a SNES mother board in a fashion like marshallh described. If we got enough people on it, it would not be completely un-doable. Who wants to start making a parts list? :P

Yes, but this is actually a board, not an emulator.
