Got 12 weeks off this summer and decided I need a project.
So far I have a PS1 screen and a slim PS2. Means all I need to hunt out now is a battery and a case. Have a question though, is this a good battery, know it's the right voltage, but i can't find it's capacity in mA?

Re: DKstation 2
Should last about an hour and a half I think
Equation used
lb=4333
ld=1900 (according to Ben's PS2P)
(4333/1900)*0.7=1.59 hours
Might need to hunt out something a bit bigger then

You might have to get 2 of those and wire them in parallel. I've looked for some high capacity 8.5v-12v and haven't really come up with anything good at all

Re: DKstation 2
Might just build it sans battery for now and use an external pack or the original power supply. Means the project will cost less and be smaller, double win
Thanks forthe help so far eurddrue

Nothing wrong with external power and batteries. I've never used my Nomad on anything but mains. I will watch your progress most interestedly. I have a spare slim PS2 that I'm really not interested in parting with. Best of luck to you!

Re: DKstation 2
The newer revision PS2 board might draw a bit less power than the relatively early one Ben used. (Remember that was back in 2004 or 2005.) Try measuring the draw with a multimeter to see what it's really using.
Does your 1.9 amp draw figure include the console and stock screen, or do you plan on doing the LED mod? (I think the LED mod drops the screen's draw to around 350 mA.)

The newest revision PS2 takes mains power, not the usual 8.5V and anyway, picked up one of the older ones cheap so will be using that.bicostp wrote:The newer revision PS2 board might draw a bit less power than the relatively early one Ben used. And I guess Ben LED modded his screen so it takes that into account for the draw.
