Demonoid Invites

Post by AfroLH »

Hey, would it be against the rules to give someone here a Demonoid invite code?

I have a few and I am feeling generous!

A very good torrent site.

I use it to distribute my band's Albums.

You know, I personally find that btjunkie.org has everything demonoid has but downloads are faster. I have an account on both, so I wouldn't consider myself biased. They're both great, but exclusive entry kind of fails when speeds comes from having more downloaders.

Don't think so. Torrents are completely legal in every way. It just depends on what your torrenting. Using it for your bands music, freeware, shareware, etc. is all legal. As long as you don't post to anything illegal, such as roms, movies, non-shareware music, etc, then it should be fine.

There are several concepts.
The tehnology, the torrent protocol is of course legal. It's how some people use it that may be illegal. It may also be illegal to run a tracker which claims no liability of the files shared with the help of the tracker. AFAIK there's no precedent case about this in America, but in a not too far future we'll have precedent cases in Sweden (The Pirate Bay) and UK/NL (OiNK).

More importantly however, this forum is not the government, and the admin team may if they so wish impose a stricter ruleset than the law requires. For example something like this:
5. Legality is cruise control for cool. This rules speaks for itself; don't cross into the dark gray area by discussing and exchanges warez (illegal software and media). We're not here to punish you and get you in trouble with the law - but it's not worth risking!
(From Rules 5.0)

In other words, the mod team may, if they so wish, closerize this thread with reference to it being in the "dark gray area". Their right to do so has nothing to do with whether torrenting or Demonoid is technically legal or not.

We've had Demonoid Code threads before so I don't see the problem, then again of course, I don't see the problem in pirating 20GB (+/- 20GB, mostly -) worth of Software and Games a day either :P

How much HDD space do you have? And the bigger question is, how many times have you filled it all?

For the pissing match, I've filled both my 320GB drives three times over since last year

And I believe I gave you one in the first place, your welcome benheck people

I know this is a zombie thread, but the upside of there being exclusive entry is that everybody that has privileged entry will seed more because they don't want to get banned from the site for having a crap ratio, IMO it's a better way to share because there's almost always seeds for what you want to find.

Also, demonoid doesn't have pr0n so don't count on finding any there/using it to boost your ratio.

Oh yeah, you can PM me if you want an invite code, but please refrain if you haven't been registered here for very long. If you get warned/banned/have a crappy ratio on an account that I referred you with, I can also receive a warning/ban/crappy reputation.
