I didn't even cut it off yet. I tried everything to unscrew my gamecube, burning a pen and making a mold for a home made gamebit screwdriver and it failed. last resort is to buy a real gamebit screwdriver but I am on a budget.

But I will leave the GC alone for a while.

Now when I remove the wire what do I do after?
There's not room for $3 in your budget?
Haha. No. wait. Yes their is >>, <<

Ahhh I'll keep note of that. But I think I should cut the ending of the colored cords like where the big tube starts. I'm waiting for more opinions.

If its your first portable, i suggest a zenith gamecube screen
And are you planning on cutting that weird blob shape that houses all the buttons and putting it on the case?
If so, i suggest cutting out a similar shape on your case, and just gluing in the controller part.

PS1 screen is nice but expensive. DealExtreme has cheap screens but they are small at 2.5-3.5 inches.

yeah, the whole "melting a pen" process doesnt work very well, I ended up going through like 10 pens, but none could turn the screws. If your a cheapo then just gather a bunch of pens and keep on trying it, EVENTUALLY the screws will give, but most plastic will lose in a fight against those devilish screws....I ended up buying a "gamebit", there a ripoff but convenience comes with a price
