use an analog stick for c buttons?

how would you make one? i've experimented, unsuccessfully, and i've looked around the net, and still no luck. i know SisuF did this in his portable, and it would help me a lot with my portable

It's usually for the dpad, but it works with c buttons just the same.

I'm ashamed of you. You seemed like the person to search before posting. This diagram works, I've used it before, but the c-stick makes games awkward.

ok, i've wired everything correctly, but it won't work. for some reason, however, when i put my test leads from my multimeter and try it works when i test it. i'll keep experimenting til i get it working, though

wait, i didn't use the right resistor for GND. is that going to affect anything?

this is going to sound stupid, but is i put 2 2k ohm resistors together will i get 4k ohm resistance?

When put in series, resistance adds. So yes.

for some reason, when i put my test leads on the wires and try and use the analog stick, it works, so i'm thinking i need a resistor that can replicate the resistance of a multimeter, or atleast that's what i think might make it work it sounds stupid, but i think it may fix it

Indeed, which is why I don't see the benefit of doing this mod anyway. Pressing the Z/A/B with a C button would be hardly great.

i like using the joystick as c buttons. i always did when i messed around with emulators, and i think it's great
