Power Issues... But, now I get no picture. (SOLVED!)

Alright, I'm attempting to power my Zenith screen with a 9.6 Ni-Mh battery. I'm running it through an Adjustable Voltage Regulator, which then runs through two resistors (220 and 1.1k) and two capacitors (Using this schematic). When I don't have the screen plugged in, the multimeter reads 7.6 volts.

When I run the power wire to the screen, and turn it on, nothing happens. When I put the multimeter up to the same spot, it only registers 3.2 volts. Is that normal? And is this why the screen is not turning on?

Any help you could provide me would be great.

I think you wired up the regulator wrong. Either that or it is "dropping out".

Good call. I had the regulator in backwards. Now, I can get the screen to power up, but there's no picture. I tried to connect a wire from the 12th pin on slot 1 to the 7805, but it still doesn't work.

When it starts up, I see lines, briefly. But, then there's just a blank screen.

On a brighter note, the LED mod looks great.

Do you have a ground for the video between the screen and your video source? Also, there are some spots for the a/v on the back of the screen board that are easier to solder to than the pins (I believe they're labeled, just above the pins).

I have a question for those who have used the Zenith screens. If I just power up the screen, without any video source, should I get any sort of picture? Such as color or words or anything? Would the Brightness and Volume Control buttons display anything on the screen?

The reason I ask, is because I'm starting to wonder if I'm not actually seeing the screen start up, but rather the LED mod turning on and looking like the screen has powered up.

There isn't anything displayed on the screen when there isn't a video source. The brightness and volume levels display when you push the buttons.

Hmm. When I press the buttons, nothing happens. I guess that means my screen isn't actually turning on. Well, now that I know that, I'll see if I can find the problem.

See my recent post about the OSD. It appears that the osd only appears when you apply +5v to pin 12 of the input connector... my screen was working fine without it, but the buttons weren't doing anything.

Well, I finally got my screen isues to work. It appears I got a little crazy with the soldering iron and soldiered the 7805 to this piece of metal next to it. I cleaned up the solder. I then grounded the audio/video and it works. Pretty much.

I mean, I appear to need to work on the NES Bit a little. (I'm getting the flashing screen of suck, but that's to be expected with a twenty year old system with a crappy bit). But, my screen issues are solved.
