Cartridge slot relocation question

I have been putting this off for a while but now I have to relocate my cartridge slot. I was looking and the pins on the slot and on the motherboard don't line up perfectly. I am not talking about the holes in the mobo but the part that you actually solder to. Does anybody have a pin out of this because I can not find one? Also, I know that you don't have to use every pin but I can't find the pin out for this. Thanks for all of your help.

When you hook every thing up to it, the voltage drops. Have you charged the battery recently? If it's old or cheap, it will have a very significant voltage drop when it's under load.

What kind of battery pack are you using? If its too small, it'll fail under the pressure of trying to power everything.

The pack is plenty big enough. It is 7400mah and i saw someone else using the same one just can't remember their name.

use bigger wire. i'm having the same, exact, annoying, problem.
i tried relocating the power plug for better testing with the same wire, and got the same problem with the 3.3 volt line. i don't have bigger wire at the moment, but it seems to be the solution. i know it's not my battery, as i tested everything with 3 different power supplies, each rated at 2.2 amps, and same problem, same wire.

That's what I was thinking. I am using ribbon cable right now and that probably isnt big enough for the amps and voltage and what not. I will try to find some bigger wire and thanks.

One more thing, on the wiring diagram http://forums.benheck.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=14556 they have three purple wires that are connected to each other on the psone screen. What is that for?

Edit: What do you think is a sufficient enough AWG for the wire?

22 gauge should do you fine, or even 24.

And the three purple wires are for the headphone jack, when you plug in headphones the speakers turn off, if you don't plan to have a head phone jack on it then you have to bridge those connections or else the sound won't turn on.

You're using ribbon cable for power? I'm kinda surprised it hasn't overheated enough to burn the insulation right off it. Larger wire should help a lot. Personally, I like 20 AWG or 18 AWG for power supply.

Haven't ever had a problem with that, and all I use is ribbon cable for everything.

I've powered a screen/N64 all from one little strand of ribbon cable so that's probably not a problem, unless you have a bad connection somewhere.

What type of battery are you using Ni-MiH, Li-poly, Li-ion, Ni CD?
(Ni-CD and Ni-mih can have problems producing enough oomph)
If you are getting 8 volts off an 7.4v battery there is a possibility its overcharged, which can cause issues,

It is a Li-ion battery and the ribbon cable is really small with one solid strand so I think that is probably the problem.

I hooked up my n64 with the regular power and the screen with ribbon cable to the battery and everything worked fine.

I think either I didn't have it grounded right or the wires where to long and thin. I am going to try re-wiring it up today with some bigger wire and if that works then I know what my problem is. I ordered some 22 AWG wire so hopefully I get that soon also.

Another win! I got it working, all I had to do was use some bigger wire that I pulled off of an ATX power supply and now it works. One more question, when I relocate the cartridge slot, is it OK to use ribbon cable even if it is the same that I had problems with before?
