Hey all, this is my first post and im completly new to all of this stuff. I was wandering how hard would it be to make a laptop case have a decent size screen, and fit a genesis and snes inside.

your question is one of opinion. for some very easy and for others very hard. its based on how technically savy you are. in my opinion, it would be very easy to make a snes/genesis laptop... read up on some of the projects on here and dont just look at the pictures... take time and read... they actually have some decent guides and outlines of the process. hope this helps

im not very tech savy at all. but people in my family are pretty good with electronics. im just wandering if this is too hard of a project for my first one or not.

If your really not tech savvy at all, you should start REALLY simple. Try hooking up a few LEDs to a few battery packs, or something like that. Make a cool LED wrist light or something. (I think Life of Brian did that)

You can dive right into the big stuff, but it usually helps to start small.

That's not really something we can answer for you. We don't know anything about you like how fast you learn, how much you really want to do this, how hard you really want to work, how easily you'll get frustrated, etc.

Sounds like an easy project to me, but there are several ways to do it. The electronics could be very easy, by just using a small LCD display with composite inputs and the original console cords, or you could wire it all directly, all to one battery/ac plug, one on/off switch, or even map it all to one controller. I guess, without knowing you, I'd recommend it for a first project, though. It sounds like you want something of a decent size, so that would give you lots of room to work with, whether you used original consoles, or decided to use a clone like the FC3 (NES/SNES/Genesis).

possibly a buzzer or a radio, those arent hard to make
but a project like this should be done right, and not just thrown together

Unless it's a crap AM radio radios are hard to make.

That's why I just hacked a clock radio

In all seriousness, better to start simply, but others have made larger leaps.
