Want to collaborate on a video game music cover?
I was going to maybe shoot a few YouTube videos of me playing my sax or clarinet to some video game tunes, but I remembered that this forum has a ton of musicians who are also video game fans!
I think it would be cool if we made a few split screen videos of us playing our instruments to some video game tunes.
Some I had in mind, that I can play on sax pretty well:
Yoshi's Island: Make Eggs, Throw Eggs
Mario Kart 64: Frappe Snowland
Maybe some Pokemon stuff. The theme from the show? (Not on sax, but I can play it on guitar and keyboard. Just need drums, bass, and a singer.)
If anyone plays any instruments and has song suggestions, shout 'em out!
(Has this been done before here? As I type, it's sounding familiar...)

I can do guitar. If you can get me tabs of some sorts, ill play anything you want.
Re: Want to collaborate on a video game music cover?
You need somebody with a fancy keyboard-synthesiser.
Re: Want to collaborate on a video game music cover?
I play bass guitar. I must warn you, though. I have massive fret buzz!!! I also play violin...a lot better than I play bass guitar.
Re: Want to collaborate on a video game music cover?
Well I'm all about bass and synths, but I also do guitar and plain ole piano
Synths: MicroKORG, Roland Alpha Juno-1, Casiotone 403, and a couple random Yamahas
Basses: Thunderbird IV, and a badass Steinberger
I've got a drummer friend if you want real drums rather than loops!

I suck at everything but singing, which I (if I may say so myself) am excellent at.
Been taking lessons for years and all that jazz.
If you guys do the pokemon theme song, let me know. I would love to sing that.
Any of the pokemon theme songs, actually, I know all of them.

You name it, I can play it...main focus on guitars tho. I'm a terrible singer, but I'm not afraid to throw down
I prefer the angrier sounding vid game tracks, but oh well...

Metallica Man X, my band is getting nice and heavy, more so than that Possum song. I should send you a track or two when we get our demo completed.

Okay, so I guess our first song will be the Pokemon theme (the first one, from the show.). Or we could vote.
Anyway, if we were to cover the theme exactly, it would mean we need:

I think that if we can record the drums first, and the drummer puts it on YouTube, or uploads an mp3 and posts it, we can all base the other parts around it. Maybe after that, the keyboardist can record their part while listening to the drums with headphones, so everything syncs up.

I wanna be the main singer, though!
Actually, if we want to do this right, we need a chorus of 10 or 15 people for the "Pokemon!" that is shouted between every line.
