What type of paintball gun

What type of paintball gun should a begginner buy? i am looking to buy a paint ball gun but i have just got interested. i have seen good packages of which the gun comes with the mask and gun and co2 tank...i was wondering if anyone out there has found any good packages..or what type of gun do you reccomend?

first off this is in the wrong forum, it should be in Forum 42. A mod will probably move it soon. Now for your question, for a beginner you can't go wrong with any Spyder or Tippmann. Spyders (in my experience) are generally lighter, but the Tippmann98 just won't break, no matter what you do to it. Also for maintenance, the Spyder is easier to dissasemble. But if you plan on sticking with the sport, a Smart Parts Vibe wouldn't be a bad choice either.

You can’t go wrong with a Tippman 98. I would recommend that over a Spyder. Spyders tend to break with heavy use, but they are generally cheaper.

What ever you do not buy a pack that includes a gun and stuff from Wal-Mart or whatever. Those guns really blow *** beyond belief. Trust me your better off just buying a nicer gun and not have to pay to have it repaired every time you play.

but yes a tippmann 98 custom is probably your best choice, and I also suggest you check and see what people in your area are selling on craigslist, or better yet a local field (if you have one)

Like previously said, a Tippmann 98 custom (around $100 used ish?) is probably your best bet for a beginner marker, assuming you want to play Woodsball or any sort of scenario ball. If it's Speedball or any of the many variants, you'd better off grab a friends marker, test it a bit, if you like playing paintball, I'd suggest a Smart Parts Ion ($200) as the best cheap electric marker. If you have a little more cash, an Invert Mini ($280) or a PMR ($250) are pretty great markers for the price.

Keep in mind that if you get a Tippmann you'll need a Co2 tank, or if it's any of the other guns, an Air tank. Although Ion's can work with Co2 too, but it's just not great for them. a 20oz Co2 tank usually runs around $20, while the cheapest air tank I've found is around $80. After that it's just paint and fill up costs, which is fairly cheap in the long run.

Tippmanns are nice because they offer a lot of customizable options. I have and old semi Sheridan XTS that got plenty of use. I recently picked up a electronic Spyder Pilot ACS for cheap. It has the electronic trigger frame that allows for semi, 3 round burst, 6 round burst, and full auto fire.
