An easy-to-use "hardcore encrypted" IP-to-IP messengers?

Post by Aguiluz »

So here's my setup. I have a real-life friend from the USA (he migrated there, I migrated to Canada) and we want to have a chat program.

Now with me being paranoid, regular messengers won't cut it. (I have my reasons.)

We got Hamachi VPN, and we could chat that way. (Encrypted by AES-256)

However, we can't bear using the crappy chat interface of Hamachi.

Being a VPN, we both have a Hamachi IP.

Now we need a good encrypted chat program. We want to type in each other's Hamachi IP, authenticate ourselves somehow (public keys?) then chat away.

It has to be user-friendly too. We tried WASTE and my friend was too confused.

Suggestions?

(BTW: I am aware that data passing through Hamachi is secure, but I want to go for superencryption by scrambling the data once by using the chat program and scrambling it again using Hamachi then it passes the data to my friend. Using Hamachi would also keep us from drifting away due to Dynamic IP changes.)

Google didn't help because it gave out results that use other protocols (MSN, AIM, etc.). I want something that connects to specified IPs only.

How encrypted? Something hardcore like 512+bits. 1024 may be nice.
