Improve refresh rate

Sounds more like signal noise. Are you using a battery with it? I had an odd trouble with my PSOne screen with a Lithium Ion battery pack being directly behind it, causing the same effect as what you are describing. Moving the battery around got rid of the lines. My best guess is reflection of EMI off of the cells was the cause.

I don't think it's the refresh rate.
Either you bought the worst out of these piece of crap screens, or there is something wrong on the board.
If it was the refresh rate, then you would have to mod the controller board for the LCD, and that is a PAIN! It's more trouble than it's worth.

If it's intec, then it is probably just the screen, like you already said.

Wavy lines mean you do not have enough power, either volts or amps.

What happens when you run it using no wii, and input something from a separately powered console?

See those lines? I think it's just a refresh rate.

De-interlacing issues perhaps, but not refresh rate. Could be power regulation issues, which seems most likely, as the artifacts are also going to anything else connected to the screen Or it could be that your screen is crap, which would go with my experience of Intec screens.

Get a better DC adapter first, I bet it is not regulated.

Try running it off the official wii adapter with no wii attached, or running the wii off another adapter. Or, use a different console.

I doubt it really does 4.5amps, that is nicer than most good laptop power bricks.

Ah! Probably actually 4.5 amps, in that case...

I wonder if the regulator in the screen itself is to fault? I know that sometimes they fail, and they will only work if fed a TON of power (Common problem with the GP2X). The fact that the new adapter improved it points in that direction. Maybe you could open it up and take a look for blown caps/dead components? Might not be a visible thing, but you could get lucky.

The other possibility is that there is interference on the video line. Does moving the cable as far away as possibly from the power brick help?
