My first job interview, any advice?

I only applied at one place and I got my job, I now work at the library.

Around here, at any job that does not require the completion of high school, a job interview is their way of saying "You got the job if you're not totally sketch."

You complain about preps with iPods then use the phrase "totally sketch"?

Apparently things are different where you are. Preps don't even know what a sketchy person is.

I got my first job 3 years ago, when I was 14, at Dutch Wonderland. I worked 6-8 hour days for 4-6 days a week at $6.00 an hour. I didn't do anything special I just walked in to the interview, with my average clothing on, and walked out with a summer job So much for labor laws.

The thing I hate most when I am going through applicants, and the subsequent interviews, is when an applicant gives me entirely too much information. For instance, I had a gentleman turn in an application today. As I am currently looking for a driver position, I asked some minor questions about his driving record and previous experience. I now know this person had it suspended for child support violations, lost his marriage because he drove a truck for 12 years, and really really really wants to work somewhere because he's done with the whole trucking thing. And this is all before the interview.

That's not what an interviewer particularly wants to hear. Keep it simple, don't tell your interviewer that you will work for them for ever and ever and that you want a career; just show that you're eager to work hard for the company, and don't wear your pants around your knees.

I'm referring to the prepiness of the use of the word "sketch" as an adjective, as opposed to "sketchy".
