The Gameboy wasn't 8-bit, it was some 4-shades-of-gray-and-black dot thing. Otherwise I imagine something would have emerged sometime.

1. Game boy is 8-bit for the processing stuff, not colors
2. the back of the screen isn't really white, it has a green tint to it, whether it's on or off.

Oh yeah, GBO had the green. I had GBO for a time, then got GBP, and the GBO was stolen, so I had a nice not-green background.

so... The stereo chanels are mixed when they are put through the speaker, and are put out to the corresponding point on the headphone jack.
