N64 with built in Flash Cart?

Includes but not limited to: SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Game Gear and I guess the Virtual Boy.

N64 with built in Flash Cart?

Post by blaze3927 »

Hi
I found a doctor v64 Jr with 256Mbit Ram (which I can get shipped to Australia for $30 AUD!!! XD), and I was wondering whether it would be worth in to scrap the cart slot and just have that built in with the parallel port acessible?

It would be pointless because you will have to plug it in and wait 5 minutes everytime you want to change the game. It also draws quite a bit of current just to keep the memory going (drains 6 AA batteries in just a few hours.) and draws even more current when it's running.

Also, you will have to find a way to manage lockout CIC chips and save chips. The end result is that you spend way more time fiddling around to get the right combinations when you could just plug in the original game itself and be done with it. I had a V64, I know :P
