i don't believe this. i've had my xbox 360 elite for over a year and never had ANY problems with it, it's been great, and now i turn it on to watch a dvd and bang, 3 red lights of dooky

i'm actually speechless, i feel like i've been raped or something, or lost a body part, i dunno what the hell to do now.

should i try to get microsoft to fix it, will they even do it since i've already had it over a year? or should i try fixing it myself with one of the kits like xclamp? does anyone know how easy/difficult they are to do and if they're worth doing instead of the legitimate way?
if i try to fix it myself than i can never send it to microsoft cos of the voided warranty, but on the other hand if microsoft won't fix it anyway then what difference does it make if it does get voided? i need advice on what to do

sorry if i sound retarded i'm just really copulate off right now.

Microsoft WILL fix it, so let them.
The only time you should fix your own console is if you've either voided the warranty, or if the warranty is up.

M$ will basically fix just about any RRoD.

Just don't expect it to last very long.

I have yet to see a single RRoD repair last for more than a year before either E74, or another RRoD.

Microsoft's warrenty on RROD is 3 years. You're fine. Stop babying. Mine's used and still hasn't RRODed, and I don't care if it does. It still has an extra year on it since it's from 07. MS atleast did something right with RROD warrenty.

Ok,, you could try the towel trick, then try removing the xclamps. Once you get it working improve the cooling. Liquid cooling will be the best.
How about something that is usually black, curved top, slot loading drive, quieter fan, has wifi built in, has an 80GB hard drive inside, doesn't scratch discs, doesn't overheat when taken care of properly, built in blu-ray, free online play and no adaptor on the flo--- *whack'd by another member*

If you do end up modding it, then you should go all out and buy some kind of new quieter cooling system. Or even replace the case with a clear one and put lights in it. I would do that with mine, but there's no reason to right now besides the noise.

Blugh, fanboyism. I chose the PS3 because, after doing a lot of comparison, it was the better console for me. I'm sure Render did the same thing and reached a different conclusion. The answer to all fanboy wars:

I don't think being a fanboy is the way to choose a console. The reason I chose wii and 360 is because I like those, and I can't really afford a ps3.
BTW, nintesoft in my sig does not mean I hate sony and only like nintendo and MS. Simply means that I like that combination.
