DS screen in GBA
Since they both use digital screens, would it be possible to put a DS screen in a GBA or GBA SP? It would be nice to be able to play all Gameboy games on the DS's nice backlit screen.

There's a mod out there for backlighting a horizontal GBA:

Why would you rip apart a $100 DS just to get its screen?
Someone please lock this.

Re: DS screen in GBA
not sure if this is serious or not, but I'll assume it is.goodie wrote:Since they both use digital screens, would it be possible to put a DS screen in a GBA or GBA SP? It would be nice to be able to play all Gameboy games on the DS's nice backlit screen.
Digital is proprietary, not like a composite signal. Lynx, GBA, GBC, calculator... they're all digital. It's possible that they're compatible, but I really doubt it.

Why bother with a DS or a second system. Either replace your GBA with an SP or get the afterburner mod. Look at it this way: less pain-in-the-@$$ Nintendo screws to deal with!

Dude, the SP is NOT back-lit. It is front-lit. Play a GBA game on the SP. Then play it on the DS. The DS's screen will have much better quality.peppers wrote:SP screens are backlit foolish Im going to have to agree with bizarogannon

And the afterburner is not a backlight it's a frontlight.

Crap. I'm wrong again! Maybe I should make a trademark "useless thread" about being wrong.
