You need to get a 7805 regulator. It should bring the voltage down.

LIES!!!!
No, the 7805 linear regulator will drop down the voltage to 5v.
The PSone screen cannot run on 5 volts; it drops out under 7v.
The PSone screen cannot go over 9v, or else it does some really weird things.
I'd recommend the 7808 regulator; it drops it down to 8v, which the screen can handle.

Dang it, I remembered it as the 7805.

With some resistors, a 7805 will work:

Really? I thought that the 7805 only outputs 5v. Thus the 5 on the end.
