I was sitting in lunch today and thinking about what I could use to power my portable when I start building it. Not long after that I had a flash of inspiration I checked my phone battery and it was one of these http://www.amazon.com/Sony-Ericsson-BST ... B0009SHN30. With 3.6v and 900mAh if I could wire two of these in series and wire two series in parallel wouldn't that work the same as a 7.2v 1800mAh battery. Plus their small, Li-Poly and have protection circuits built in. Oh and their cheap on eBay they go from $4-9 or Amazon had them for a buck-fifty four of these would be way cheaper then the alternatives I've seen.
edit:my math was wrong fixed it.

Re: Batteries
1800 mah wont power anything for very long. like 30 minutes max. also, i think 7.2 volts is to low. go for 3.7 volt battery packs instead, as that would get you closer to the 7.5v you want.

You can't add voltage and amperage at the same time. Here's a good battery : long url

Re: Batteries
OK that's what I thought but just to make sure before I order the batteries. Could I run a snes or nes portable on 8 of these wired like I was talking about earlier? What would the battery life be like? Maybe 3-3.5 hours? Or should I go with the other battery I was linked to because I'm a bit strapped for cash and $18 shipped is cheaper then $30 shipped.
