Suggestion on an 8" screen?

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

Suggestion on an 8" screen?

Post by limpport »

I'm looking to find an 8 inch screen to use in a NES project, but I'm not having a lot of luck. I was trying to find the site that Ben gets his screens from, but I couldn't find it. Any suggestions?

Get a 7" portable DVD player. Way cheaper and easier to find.

Do you know what kind will work? I know most portable DVD players won't.

Many portable DVD players do - it's just that you need to include the entire DVD motherboard. The size usually deters people.

It will if it has the r/y/w rca jacks on the side. Any kind of video in and in *should* work.

Well, my portable DVD player has those jacks, but they only work for video out, not in. Their mere presence doesn't mean you can use it, right?

Yes, like that. Mine's a different brand though.

So I found an 8" screen here. I know it's expensive, but it's cheaper than a lot of the smaller screens. Does anyone know of a place that also sells LCD modules?
