ps2 battery?

I'm working on a ps2p, but in all honesty I cannot settle on a battery. I found this battery, but it's 8.4V and I'm pretty sure the PS2 slim needs 8.5V. In know this is probably a stupid question, but will the PS2 work on that battery? I'd really rather not have to go up to a higher voltage, just to have to drop it all back down for the ps2 aqnd psone screen. I've thought about lithium ions, but I don't really know about PCBs and such. If I could spend less than $70 US for a battery that'll work and give me decent life out of a ps2p, I'd be a happy camper. Does anyone have any good ideas?

the ps2 will run on that battery. most electronics will run on any voltage within about 7% of thier specified voltage.

Ok, I have a couple new candidates. I can also use this or this. My question is: what would you use to hook either up to a ps2 slim and zenith (psone) screen? Any help would be great as I really don't want to fry anything. thanks

I think that both of those batterys are too high, maybe I'm wrong but I think the ps2 needs around 8.5v and can't go higher. As for what would you wire a screen and batteries too it, wires and solder

a zenith ps2 screen and a ps2 together, still draw 8.5 volts, just more amps. an led modded psone/zenith screen draws roughly 400 mah, and a ps2 draws an amount of amps which is uknown to me, and i am too lazy to check

look for a battery that puts out between 8.2 volts and 8.9 volts, at >5000mah. (you could go with less, but im assuming you want pretty good play time

I was just thinking I could drop the volatge with a regulator, but that just makes heat. I guess I'll look around for a ~8.5V battery or so. I think that 8.5V is about the top end of what the psone screen can handle, so I just don't want to fry it accidently.

well, instead of regulators, you could use a voltage converter, so then the extra voltage becomes milliamps!

Wah? and how would I go about buying/ making one of these? you have my undivided attention...

A voltage converter is basically two transformers hooked together. It works by [intellijint sounding sentence goes here] all i know about how they work is that it has to do with magnetic fields and such. Just google "voltage converter" there are ton of sites that sell em, so im sure you can find one that fits your needs
