What is the max voltage for the ps1 screen?

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

What is the max voltage for the ps1 screen?

Post by thewise1 »

Yes, I've already searched for it and can't find it. I know I've read it time and time again but can't remember is exactly.

I know 9 volts is too much. But what is the max?

8.x?

Which screen? The PS1 screen maxes out at exactly 9V.

I think we should check to see if you can withstand 220 volts

I'm still good though. My battery at a full charge gives 8.53 volts.

Some say 9v, some have reported 8.5v can harm the screen. If you use 7.4v or 7.2v cells you are ok though, for one thing that is all you need for portables (mostly) and when fully charged you get about 8.4v which is well into the safe range.

Yeah but I am using an 7.4 volt battery. It just gets up to 8.53 at a full charge.
