Well I am working on a portable in my spare class time to well not do class work
Building it off the Pro64 NOAC I picked up at the MGC. Will be using only parts I have lying around is the goal. I have some wood left over from previous portables, a 2.5" LCD, and a assorted amounts of tacts, batteries, and switches so I think I have enough to scrap together a portable. Here are the Day 1 pictures.
More tomorrow. Case ideas. Wood front back and milled Aluminum sides? I think that would look awesome. Oh and the whole thing draws like 360mA.

More progress. Controls are done and Audio amp is working. The unit will be powered by 4 AAA batteries. Battery life will be expected around 2.5 Hours on full blast audio. Total draw of the system is .42 Amps at 6V.
Going to build the case tomorrow.

what screen are you using? you only said "2.5 inch screen" it looks like a pocket tv. Which kind is it?

AEIcomp 2.5". Had it lying around.

meh, looked like one that I have that has no video input jack. I can't figure out how to separate composite from all of the jumble.

By the way I am closing this project. This NOAC has only two good games on it (1942, Excite Bike) and isnt really worth using a screen on it. I will post some more pictures of the wood bending experiment that I did. I have half (SNES) of a retro duo that I will repurpose the screen and controller board for.

Well agreed, I reconsidered my wasting a screen on it and decided it was stupid to even think about it.
