ps2 controller relocation question

Post by neverused »

How necessary is it to keep the ananlog function of the x, circle, square, and triangle buttons on the ps2 controller? I'm very wary of busting my ps2 controller apart to relocate the buttons, since I don't want to mess up the traces and have nothing to solder to. I might just put tact switches in place. Does anyone know where I can find squishy tacts or if I should stick with the original analog feature? Thanks!

I talked about two intensities because that's the maximum the games I played use. I remember cursing MGS3's aiming system until I realized a light press would aim and a deep press would fire. In Stuntman I finally found something I had bee longing for since Driver 1: the ability to regulate speed by varying pressure on the X button. Real cool.
Most games don't use them though.
