With PH the touch screen control is okay. But I can't play it because I have a bad dump or something- it locks up when I get to a certain part (on an M3DS Real). I didn't like it that much anyway. I never would have bought it.

Now Super Mario 64 DS, that has crappy controls. Dpad control is bad but usable. Touchscreen control makes me want to throw the DS out the nearest window. The DS really needs an analogue stick.

Beat it 3 times, went through and got the biggoron's sword ect, IMO one of the best games I've ever played. You guys have to beat it! Infact the whole zelda series was amazing, But Im not too big of a fan of the newer stuff, though I have beaten Twilight princess(Gamecube version, preferred it)and windwaker(Was good, but didn't enjoy it quite as much)
Am I the only nintendo fan that doesn't own Wii  ? I have a 360 instead.
Nope, I own a 360 instead too (getting a Wii for Brawl and Zelda games was not worth it, Maybe for Super Mario Galaxy)
I haven't been here in awhile, and looking back it's one of the worst ideas I ever had. I'm back and I'll be here for awhile, I was quite active 1 year ago and I hope to become that again.

@SS: Here is a vid of LOZPH dpad control. Not sure if that particular one is real, but I know mine is. It is unlocked through a simple gameshark code.

I'm skeptical, to say the least.

First, a train? A friggin' train? No. Trains do not belong in Zelda; that totally ruins my perception of the games' time period, plus having something as purely mechanical and non-magical as that kind of ruins the established Zelda atmosphere...

Second, I hated that you had to use the touch screen to control Link in "Phantom Hourglass;" that was the main thing that kept me from buying it, believe it or not. The reason why is that I typically just use my DS on car trips, and I can never play games that require the touch screen because of how difficult it is to use well in the car, plus I've got the old-style DS with a beat-up screen that throws things off a little more. I wish Nintendo would realize that just because your system has a cool control system, it doesn't mean that it's a good one...

I guess you could say my first impressions haven't made me crazy about it... but I'm not going to pass judgement too harshly just yet. I'll just wait and see for now.

I agree the train is a dumb idea, this game is just a second PH but with a train instead of a boat. Nintendo may just be running out of ideas for zelda games

personaly I liked PH and twilight princess even though they had their flaws
what I really want is another Wii zelda

Agreed. Are they going to introduce guns in the near future? Anywhere past a train and I'm never buying another zelda as long as I live.

So much for a midevil-ish atmostphere. We're in the 19th century? Total BS.

I don't mind a 19th century setting. But cartoony graphics+19th century do not mix. Make it darker, Victorian-esque, maybe even with a little steampunk. Maybe portray Hyrule as an industrialized nation. Gannon can attempt to take power. The Kokiri can be portrayed as hippies. That would be sweet.

Do not attach the Zelda franchise to that thing. Make it an independent series. The zelda franchise was never supposed to be steampunk.

Yeah, this game just looks lame. :( I loved Wind Waker, and played through some of Phantom Hourglass, but this just looks downright silly. I always thought Zelda was one of the best examples of Nintendo not "making junk" within a popular, well-established franchise (as opposed to Mario or Pokemon, for example). But this is looking to be the worst Zelda game behind the CD-I ones. I lose more faith in Nintendo every day.

Yeah after the N64 (well actually during the N64) Nintendo went downhill and they still haven't recovered. From day one they had issues with 3rd party developers. But then their house franchises devolved, and that was pretty much their lifeline. The Wii is selling because of little kids and old people, not real gamers.

I really love new Zelda games because they always screw over the fans by making it hard to build a timeline.

there's a split timeline. after ocarina of time, it split into the TP and MM timelines, I believe. one of them takes place after the events of Ocarina of time, but the other one follows the alternate timeline created when zelda sent link back to the past and the whole thing never happened.

Yeah I think that is the only thing that is widely accepted

I think there are only a few parts that we aren't sure where they fit in to the timeline.

Legend of Zelda is the original, Zelda II takes place after that. A Link to the Past is the prequel to those two. The Ocarina of Time is a prequel to all of those (though I'm not sure which time line those three fit into, I think it's the Child-Link timeline since ALttP deals with the twilight realm). Majora's Mask is the sequel to OoT in the child-link timeline. Twilight Princess takes place about 100 years after Majora's Mask/OoT in the same timeline. Wind Waker is the sequel to the Adult Link timeline and also takes place 100 years after OoT. Phantom Hourglass is the sequel to Wind Waker.

so I think it may look like this:

.............................Majora's Mask- Twilight Princess- A Link to the Past- The Legend of Zelda- Zelda II
The Ocarina of Time<
.............................Wind Waker- Phantom Hourglass

I could be mistaken, though.
