i has a question...
ermmm... i have 2 questions that you'll probably find stupid. i'm a total noob, i know nothing about any of the inner workings of consoles or modding or anything. which is why i have a question.
• Question 1. I, of course, plan on getting a NES (I said I was new to it all!!) and am on sort of a low budget. so, i'm not gonna go crazy and buy myself a SNES too (i already have a n64). so, i want to make everything NES capable. So, getting to the question. Would it be possible to modify a Super Game Boy for the SNES to work on a NES? If so, how? How would I do it, and what would I need?
please answer!!
thanks

Re: i has a question...
Actually, if you are going to make a nes portable, you might want to check out a NOAC of some sort, such as a super joy3, because they are very small and have very low power requirements.

Re: i has a question...
To answer your Super Gameboy question, the answer is no.
Just no, only no, no exceptions no.

The Super Nintendo is 100% incompatible with the NES. The SNES is 16 bit, the NES is 8 bit. If you want an original NES (or the original top loading "NES 2"), I sell them.n00balicious wrote:how come?jleemero wrote:To answer your Super Gameboy question, the answer is no.

Make an offer. You can get an idea of the pricing on ebay, and I usually sell them for less money to forum members. I have two, and they both have hairline cracks.eurddrue wrote:and then their is the 50 pin and 72 pin difference...nevermind1534 wrote:The Super Nintendo is 100% incompatible with the NES. Re: i has a question...
Actually, gameboy games technically COULD be played on an nes, but there is a very big catch. There was an accesory for the nes called the Wide Boy II. There was no Wide Boy 1, but don't ask me why. The thing was for testing gameboy games on, and there are very very few around. I do not think that this was commercially released either. So basically, the chance of finding one of these would be lower than the chance of finding an authentic copy of nintendo world championship 1990 below 3000 dollars.
Why not buy an snes and then a super gameboy? both are very very cheap, and ask around. Somebody may be willing to give you them for free.

*cough* retro duo *cough*
you get both in one small compact little machine. Who cares about compatability? As long as it can play most games your fine as an average gamer vs. a NESophile who needs perfect sound quality.

I sell the original NESes on ebay with some games, accessories, and a one year warranty for $150 before christmas. Now they go for around $100, but I haven't sold any on ebay since then.eurddrue wrote:*cough* retro duo *cough*

Re: i has a question...
I forgot to say in that post, that I much prefer the original over the reproductions.eurddrue wrote:nevermind1534 wrote:I sell the original NESes on ebay with some games, accessories, and a one year warranty for $150 before christmas. Congratulations, now more people think that that is the reason they are incompatible! Hurray!nevermind1534 wrote:The Super Nintendo is 100% incompatible with the NES.
